Police Deaths Bogota

On Tuesday 2nd July National media sources across Bogota reported a violent attack against a Colombian Police unit in which resulted in one Policeman being killed.

According to sources, the incident which occurred in the South of Bogota took place when officers stopped a vehicle to carry out a document check after locals reported the vehicle occupants acting suspiciously. The passengers of the vehicle responded by shooting at the officers which resulted in 2 officers been injured.

The injured officers were taken to hospital in which one was reported dead on arrival.

On a separate occasion this month (July 2019) an apparent assassination of a National Colombian Policeman was reported to take place on the 17th July within the North West of Bogota. In similar circumstances the Policeman was shot and killed when stopping a vehicle after seen as acting suspiciously in the area.

The incident occurred in early hours of the morning in front of a Colombian National Army Cadets School.
